Water is truly the staff of life, without it, you will die in just a few days.  Assume that for whatever reason, your taps won’t work – there is no water coming into your home.  What else do you have?  Do you have bottled water somewhere?  Did you know there is about 50 gallons of water stored in your water heater?  There’s also a few gallons in the tank of your toilet!  If you have an outside water source – such as a lake, creek or storm drain – do you have a way to filter it?  Your first goal with water should be to be able to provide your family with 2 weeks worth of water and a way to continue filtering found water after that.  Here is a great place to start learning about water.
I used to have bug out bag but not anymore because we are living in the end times, the rapture and the 7 year Tribulation are right around the corner. Get rapture ready, people: accept JESUS CHRIST as your personal Lord and Savior who paid on the cross for our sins and came back to life on the 3rd day!!! We have to come to the cross as broken sinners.

Hi, Do not buy land more than 90 miles from where you reside permanently. In the event of discord travel will become impossible, even 90 miles will become almost an unthinkable distance to travel. Plan for the worse case scenario which wont be having a leisurely drive to your hidden bunker. Try and find land that is secluded, has its own underground water supply (a well only costs 5-15 grand to dig) and is remote to suburban living. Above ground living during significant discord will be an impossible survival solution–even out in the boonies. You can purchase steel storage containers (they move cars from Europe to the US in them) which are 40 feet by 10 by 8 for about 3-5K each, You can have land dug out, lay a cement pad and have it craned in for about 10 grand. I can provide you specifics on building if your interested. Dont look for something above ground, unless its just a postal workers strike you and your loved ones will become tagets for non preppers. Good Luck! Im at artofmal@aol.com if you wish to contact me.

Great information. But, please don’t tell people that pepper spray will drop someone in seconds. I was a chemical agent instructor for a medium size police department. I’ve been sprayed by a lot of stuff. Not all of it works on every person. I’ve seen people just sit there and look at you when they were hit full in the face with very good, very reliable chemical agents. We only taught that it was a distraction technique. Use the chemical agent to distract the person so you can hit them next, take them down, flee, whatever your plan is. But, it is only a distraction technique.
While you can turn the difficulty down, PZ can present a true survival horror experience for those that are interested in it. In PZ zombies pose and actual threat, crafting is not easy, fortifying your shelter is hard and a the tiniest mistake can be fatal. And there are so many tiny mistakes you can make - forgetting to change your bandage might get your wounds infected, leaving the stove on could burn your house down. The odds are stacked against you and you won't win, but let's see how long can you survive. See More
I bought water in gallon jugs, the $.79 Walmart ones. ALL of them leaked after a few months and damaged the area I stored them. Another tip, some foods go bad faster than you think and you may not even know it. Example; We eat lots of taco shells, so I bought several boxes. By the time we got to the the last ones, they looked completely normal but tasted GROOOSSS!! Now I Know to only keep a few boxes at a time. Excellent article!

I just bought property and I built a home far from any city (its actually on its own Island in Alaska) I have my own river for fresh water, a greenhouse and gardens as well as renewable power (windmills, dam, and solar panels). plus being as I live in Alaska I have plenty of guns and ammo for hunting. I own a fishing boat as well so food will be abundant as long as I can use it. I am completely self sufficient out here. BUT, I need to known if there is a list of things that I should have. The food is stocked for two years or more, but I want livestock ideas as well as ideas of medical supplies ect. Please let me know if there is any such list.
Another factor that affects comfort is the pack’s ability to breathe and dissipate the heat that your body generates as you move. The major area where heat builds up when you’re wearing a bug out bag is along your spine. This is why certain models offer a mesh back panel that creates a small gap between your back and the back panel of the bug out bag. Even a small space here can dramatically improve heat loss and help your body stay cool.
If everyone is prepping, doesn’t this make us less humans and less Christians. We are preparing for maybe two weeks, but if something like what they are describing happens, It will set up the earth back to the dark ages. Most of the people on earth will die and the biggest threat is not surviving with food, water and ammo but medicines which right now they are prescriptions.

Many people, even relatively experienced preppers, often take the first three things for granted, stock up on a bunch of canned goods and assume they’ll survive whatever’s coming. Most other prepping focused websites will spend a bunch of time talking about food storage and preservation, but will neglect the importance of the first three points (and in particular, the importance of breathable air and safe shelter are dangerously overlooked).
We actually have an entire section on the site dedicated to the steps you need to take to cover your basic needs as dictated by the survival rule of three – food, water, and shelter (and breathable air). It covers all the survival skills and knowledge relevant to self sufficiency in these areas. If your goal is to go beyond being a prepper and you want to be a true survival expert, definitely check out that section of the site and read everything you’re able to.

Prepping is getting more mainstream today and there is a lot of information out there now about getting ready for an emergency or in case SHTF, but if you’re new to being a prepper, what should you do first? You need to know how to start prepping. If you’re one of my regular readers, you may be a bit more advanced when it comes to prepping because my typical articles have been for more thorough research. It’s time I start balancing things and have  some articles that have a bit more reach and are more useful to the 99% of people out there looking to prepare their families for emergencies or in case SHTF or even prepping for doomsday.
There are several different biomes in Conan Exiles. Barren wastelands, harsh deserts, sparkling rivers, and haunted forests are just a few of the ones you'll encounter, but you'll want to get out there and really explore the environment. Every biome holds different secrets to discover and, more importantly, different materials so you can craft new stuff, which is always satisfying. Exploring also lets you scout out enemies that you plan to attack, find new areas you want to settle, or even make new friends to cohabit the area with. You'll have to explore whether you want to or not, but Conan Exiles makes it very enjoyable by making sure it's a rewarding experience. See More
If SHTF or you have a house fire or whatever, your family members may need to reach someone. Does everyone in your family have the phone numbers, full names, addresses and directions to the home and office of all your other family members and people you trust? Do you have all the police, fire and hospital numbers and addresses listed? Make a very thorough list and make sure everyone has a copy of it. This list should go into your overall emergency plan.
The Wise bug out bag comes equipped with most of the things you’ll need to keep yourself and your loved ones well fed and comfortable during a crisis although you’d do well to take the claim of 32 meals with a grain of salt, since they’re counting a 12 serving whey package as 12 meals. As such you’ll want to use some of the extra space in the bag for additional food which you can pick up at any store that sells mountaineering equipment. As for the rest of the items there’s a well-appointed first aid kit, 5 function emergency whistle, an LED flashlight, dust masks and even a deck of playing cards to keep everyone occupied during those long hours in the storm shelter. The nylon bag is water resistant though not waterproof so keep that in mind, but it’s comfortable and well made. If you’re looking for an affordable, well stocked bug out bag you’d be wise to have the Wise Food bug out bag ready and waiting in the closet.
